Bikepacking trip in Valdelsa. A whole week dedicated to discovering the most authentic Tuscany. You will ride on the world-famous white roads, on the historic trails of Via Francigena and Via Romea, in the woods of Montagnola Senese and on the paths of natural reserves. You will cross an area rich in history and charm.
This adventure will take you to visit some of the most beautiful and renowned villages in the world, but also to know the areas less covered by classic tourism. Riding you will discover all the beauty that Valdelsa offers to those who want to explore it.
This will be a light bikepacking mode travel. You won’t need to take any equipment with you: no tent, no camp kitchen. After having a nice relaxing shower and enjoying a typical Tuscany dinner, you will spend each night on a comfortable bed inside particular structures.
You will start from Empoli heading south to arrive at the most famous square in the world: Piazza del Campo in Siena. You will cross the whole Valdelsa, touching all the towns that are part of it. You will have the chance to enjoy this area in a sustainable way and in a magical atmosphere. You will ride on paths and roads with no traffic, leaving behind the stress of daily life.
It will be a week of great fun to be shared with friends or others who have the same passion for bike adventures as you. Don’t miss the opportunity to live an amazing experience in the heart of Tuscany.

STAGE 2: GAMBASSI – CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI 75Km ↑1650 m ↓1300 m
Busy day. From the Valdelsa Fiorentina we will move toward Chianti. Long climbs and dust will be with us the whole way. If you decide to participate in the trip with an electric bike, don’t forget to bring battery charger with you. Charging during overnight stays is always guaranteed, while, charging points during lunch breaks are not. Therefore, make sure you can also ride without the help of electronics.
If you decide to participate, but you don’t have the opportunity to come with your own bike, don’t worry! You can easily rent one on site, through our partners. The bike will be given to you at the start and you will have to return it at the end of the tour. You will have the choice to riding a MTB or a gravel, assisted or muscle bike. To participate in the trip, it is recommended to equip yourself with a bikepacking bag for the saddle and another one to place on the handlebars or frame. You will need to organize your luggage with what you will need to tackle 5 days of adventure: clothing for riding, rain and windproof suits, some extra clothes for the evening (don’t forget a sweatshirt or light jacket for the colder hours), slippers, pajamas, a personal hygiene kit and an anti-friction cream, because of the many hours we will be riding. To complete the equipment, bring with you a few useful tools to repair the most common inconveniences that happen while riding. We also suggest that you prepare a luggage or duffel bag with everything you consider indispensable; this will be taken care of by our staff at the time of departure and they will provide for you to find it directly at the last overnight accommodation in Siena.
Breakfasts, lunches or light lunches, dinners, energy bars and sport gels are already included in the participation fee. We have selected for you a list of structures where it will be possible to taste typical Tuscan dishes that will make your experience even more special. Of course, during the stops, you will be free to buy anything that appeals to you and tickles your palate.
For overnight stays, we will stay in hotels, agritourism or b&b. Depending on the stage of the day, we will rest in accommodations that are located in the historic centers of the villages we will encounter or in others that are surrounded by the green Tuscan countryside. Each facility is equipped with appropriate comforts to ensure your recovery and relaxation. Accommodation is provided in double, triple or quadruple rooms depending on availability.
